The newest part of Disney’s Animal Kingdom opened this weekend, and everyone in the Disney community is talking about it, so I thought I would throw my opinions out into the world as well.
Ever since I lived in Bradenton, several years ago, I had always wanted to go to Orlando’s Lake Eola Park. I saw things online about the farmer’s markets, craft fairs, and other events that took place there, and I always wanted to attend one of them.
Ever since my first spring visit to Disney in 2009, my favorite time to go to Epcot is during the Flower and Garden Festival, which runs from March to May. On that first festival trip, I was amazed by the topiaries shaped like characters.
Since the year started, I knew March was going to be incredibly busy, and it certainly was. It felt like almost every moment of my time was booked, but I still managed to enjoy myself every step of the way.
January was so fantastic that I really wasn’t sure if anything could top it, but February was even better! This month involved photography adventures at Disney and down in Bradenton, a trip to Savannah, a drastic haircut (donated 14 inches of my hair), and a 10k. I also feel like I’m still going strong on the goals I laid out for myself.
Last weekend, I went to Bradenton to visit my grandparents. I lived in Bradenton for a year after I moved back from Indonesia, and I immediately made myself at home in this glorious city on Florida’s Gulf Coast.
The new year has been off to a fantastic start! I can’t believe it’s only been a month because of how much I’ve accomplished over the past few weeks. If you’re along for the ride on this month’s update, buckle in–it’s been a month of big changes!
Over Christmas break, my sister Katherine came to visit me from Alabama. Given that we’re both big Harry Potter fans, we knew we had to try to get to Universal Studios. Luckily, I’d been banking my credit card reward points all year and had just enough to redeem for some park tickets.
