When it comes to animals, I’m not much of a zoo person or pet lover, but I absolutely love seeing creatures in their natural habitats.¬†After time constraints caused me to ditch my plan to go to Komodo Island to see the dragons and giant bats, I decided to make it my mission to find some bats in Bali. And find them I did.

Baliday 2014

It’s been a week since Josh, Molly, and I flew back into Jakarta after ten days in Bali. We all enjoyed having the time to relax, explore, eat, and spend our holiday time together. And yet, there were many things about the place that baffled us just as much as the rest of Indonesia has. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be posting in more depth about our trip, but here is a summary of some of the things that stood out most to me as we made our way around the island.

When Dengue Strikes

I’m back on my feet and functioning like a normal human, but the last few weeks have been a little rough. After a week in the hospital, I still wasn’t able to walk more than a few steps and ended up spending another week lying in my own bed to recover. So without further ado, here’s my experience with dengue fever, for anybody who is curious about what this disease is like.
