My Wintry Week in Ohio

After saying goodbye to Florida and dropping through Alabama for a few days, it was time to go to Ohio. My last visit had been over the summer of last year, during which I complained a lot about how it was TOO COLD; despite the fact that I spent the first 19 years of my life in Ohio, I never adapted to the cold, and I very much feel like a true Floridian, putting on a sweatshirt the moment it drops below 80F. I started this February trip with the knowledge that I was going to be miserable, but that I only had to survive for a week until I was on my way to the tropics!

July 2016: What I’ve Been Up To

I took advantage of my summer break and spent all of July traveling; my English friend Molly was visiting the US for the first time, and she tagged along on the road trip.

Earlier this summer, I spent a few days in Washington, DC. With all the history it has to offer, DC has always been one of my favorite cities in the US.

La Grange: Definitely on Track

La Grange

Back on the road after our stop in Carrollton, Josh and I marveled at what a great time we’d had wandering around a new place. Thirty minutes later, we veered from I-71 once more as we followed signs for another historic point of interest: La Grange. Little did we know what a treat was in store for us as we pulled into a parking space on Main Street.

Carrollton: An Introduction to Small-town Kentucky

Carrollton color

Our journey had begun less than an hour ago. Josh and I had glanced at a map and knew which roads we were going to follow, but we had no idea where we might stop along our way.

Keeping the Grass Blue: A Journey through Kentucky

Elizabethtown

In the past, I-75 has played a crucial role in almost all of my road trips. It took my family all the way down to Florida on our trips to Disney World, it connected my hometown with Cincinnati, and it makes up most of the route between my old home in Ohio and my family’s new home in Alabama.

Monthly Update: October 2014

Once more, I’ve gone far too long without updating this website. Despite not having made many plans for my time back in the US, I ended up traveling much more than I realized I would. So, without further ado, here is what kept me so busy for all of last month!
