Photo Essay: Celebration, Florida

I first fell in love with the perfect little town of Celebration three years ago. For a while, I was visiting it as often as I could, but then eventually I lived there for about a year and a half. Although I’ve spent so much time walking around my little town with a camera, I don’t have a lot to say about Celebration other than what I said in my original post, in which I gushed about how perfect it is. (Unless you count this cheesy little video I made from one of my nature walks there.)

Early last month, my family was discussing bucket list destinations, and my sister Maggie mentioned that she really wanted to go to New Orleans. I kept that in the back of my mind, thinking that it might be a fun sister trip to have someday.

I took advantage of my summer break and spent all of July traveling; my English friend Molly was visiting the US for the first time, and she tagged along on the road trip.

Earlier this summer, I spent a few days in Washington, DC. With all the history it has to offer, DC has always been one of my favorite cities in the US.

My friend Molly flew in from England last Thursday, and after letting her recover from the trip on Friday, Josh and I dragged her out of bed bright and early on Saturday morning, fed her some waffles, and hauled her off to our favorite swamp.

Mead Botanical Gardens

At the end of last summer, Josh surprised me with a birthday visit to Winter Park, having discovered that it was the home to a well-known vegan restaurant and some nice botanical gardens. As we got ready to leave early that morning, his only clue was that I needed to wear some sneakers and bring my camera.

My Introduction to runDisney

me

January 10, 2015: It was my first time being back at Disney in almost 2 years. Having just acquired an annual pass, I woke up early and got to Epcot as soon as it opened. Despite growing up visiting the parks every year or so, the sight of blocked off paths and runners flying past me was completely unfamiliar.

An Evening in Wapakoneta

DSC_0166

Almost 3 years ago, I decided to see more of the county where I grew up. My favorite discovery was Wapakoneta, where I admired the well-preserved architecture, visited the Neil Armstrong museum, and explored the awe-inspiring Temple of Tolerance. I’ve been wanting to go back for another visit ever since that day.
